Privacy policy
Effective date: 28 September 2026
Fasting Coach is designed so that your data never leaves your iPhone. This policy explains what the app handles and why. The short version: we collect nothing.
All of this lives in local storage on your iPhone. It is never uploaded, synced, or shared. Deleting the app deletes it. "Start over" in Profile also erases it.
If you enable Health integration, Fasting Coach reads steps, active energy, sleep, and workouts from Apple Health on your device, read-only, solely so coaching can reflect your day. Health data is never written back, never transmitted anywhere, and is not used for any purpose other than the coaching shown to you. You can revoke access anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
Coaching decisions and messages are generated by Apple's on-device Foundation Models. Prompts and responses are processed locally on your iPhone.
If a future version offers optional cloud reasoning via Apple's Private Cloud Compute, it will be off by default, clearly labelled in Profile, and used only with your explicit permission. Private Cloud Compute is designed by Apple so that data is not stored or made accessible to Apple.
The voice coach uses the microphone only while you hold a conversation, and speech is transcribed on-device by Apple's speech frameworks. No audio or transcripts leave your iPhone.
Coaching reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. You control them through iOS notification settings and the app's own quiet hours and message limits.
Fasting Coach is not directed at children. Fasting is not appropriate for children; consult a doctor for any minor's dietary decisions.
Fasting Coach offers lifestyle support, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified professional before making fasting decisions that affect your health, and stop fasting if you feel unwell.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a new effective date. Questions: open an issue on the Fasting Coach GitHub repository or contact srinivas@rowdur.com.
