For iPhone and Android
A calmer way to fast. A coach who knows when to speak and when to stay quiet.
Your data never leaves your phone.
Always in view
Elapsed time, time left and one calm line, without opening the app. A Live Activity on iPhone, a live progress notification on Android. When you reach your goal, it says well done and steps aside.
An AI coach, on your phone
Type or talk. The coach answers with what is true about your fast and one small thing that helps. It never counts a hard day against you, and it stops coaching the moment you say you feel unwell.
Coaching needs a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on, or an Android phone with Gemini Intelligence. On other Android phones, you can download a 584 MB AI model once instead. Without it, fasting tracking, live progress and chat still work.
Progress that feels peaceful
A fast that fell short shows as what it was, most of the way there. Weeks, months and your longest fast, with no streak to lose and nothing to make up.
Now on iPhone Duo
Open Fasting Coach on iPhone Duo and the big inner screen fills with calm: your fast, what your body is doing right now, and a coach who already knows how your fasts usually go.
Turn it sideways and your fast and your coach sit side by side.
Private by design
Coaching, chat and voice are handled on the device, by Apple Intelligence on iPhone and Gemini Intelligence on Android. Your fasts, settings and conversations never leave your phone. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to delete later.
How your coach thinks
Every promise is written into the app, and you can read them all on your phone.
Until you do, it times messages around when you seem to be asleep. Tell it when not to message you, and it keeps to it.
Milestones and anything you ask for are extra, but never more than eight messages in a day.
Stopping when you choose is always okay.
A message only says "halfway" when you really are.
When a fast felt rough, it softens its tone and never suggests a longer one.
If you mention feeling faint or unwell, it stops coaching and asks you to eat.
Progress feels peaceful
Support
Email srinivas@rowdur.com with questions, feedback or problems. It helps to include your phone model and its iOS or Android version. I aim to reply within a few days.
Read the Privacy Policy.
No. Your fasts, settings and coaching all stay on your phone. The app has no accounts, no analytics and no servers. See the Privacy Policy.
iPhone with iOS 27 or later, including iPhone Duo, where the coach and your fast sit side by side on the big screen. The Android version, for Android 16 or later, is coming soon to Google Play and will work the same way.
The coach writes its messages with on-device AI. On iPhone that is Apple Intelligence, which needs a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. On Android it is Gemini Intelligence on phones that have it. On other Android phones, you can download Google's Gemma model (about 584 MB) once to use the coach. Without on-device AI, fasting tracking, live progress and chat still work, but the coach won't send its own nudges.
Also check that notifications are allowed for Fasting Coach. On iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Fasting Coach. On Android: Settings → Apps → Fasting Coach → Notifications. The coach stays quiet during your quiet hours.
Hours fasting : hours eating. 16:8 means a 16-hour fast. To change your plan, tap your plan in Profile, or use − and + to set a custom length.
If you turn it on, it reads steps, active energy, sleep and workouts so the coach can match your day. It only reads this data and never writes to it. On iPhone it reads from Apple Health; on Android it reads from Health Connect.
You can turn this off anytime. On iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Fasting Coach. On Android: switch off Health Connect in Profile, or open Health Connect from Settings → App permissions → Fasting Coach.
On iPhone, yes. Try "Check my fast in Fasting Coach" or "When can I eat in Fasting Coach". You'll find all the shortcuts in the Shortcuts app.
Tap Start over at the bottom of Profile. It erases everything, and so does deleting the app.
No. Fasting Coach offers lifestyle support, not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before fasting if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes or take blood-sugar medication, have a history of eating disorders, take prescription medication, or are under 18. Stop fasting and seek help if you feel unwell.
Privacy policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
This policy covers Fasting Coach for iPhone and for Android. Both apps are designed so that your data never leaves your phone. This policy explains what the app handles and why. The short version: we collect nothing.
All of this lives in local storage on your phone. Fasting Coach never uploads, syncs, or shares it. Deleting the app deletes it. "Start over" in Profile also erases it.
If you use iCloud Backup on iPhone or Google device backup on Android, your phone's backup may include the app's data, encrypted, under your own account. We never have access to it.
Health integration is off until you turn it on. If you enable it, Fasting Coach reads steps, active energy, sleep, and workouts on your device, read-only, solely so coaching can reflect your day:
Health data is never written back, never transmitted anywhere, never sold, never used for advertising, and is not used for any purpose other than the coaching shown to you. No person reads it. Fasting Coach's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Coaching decisions and messages are generated by AI models that run on your phone, and prompts and responses are processed locally:
If a future version offers optional cloud processing on either platform (for example Apple's Private Cloud Compute), it will be off by default, clearly labelled in Profile, used only with your explicit permission, and this policy will be updated first.
If your Android phone has Gemini Intelligence, Fasting Coach uses its on-device model, Gemini Nano, and downloads nothing. Fasting Coach does not use any of Gemini's cloud features.
If your phone does not have it, you can choose to download Google's Gemma model (about 584 MB) to use the coach. The download only happens if you ask for it. The model comes from the Fasting Coach release page on GitHub, and the app checks its checksum to make sure it is the genuine, unmodified model.
This download is the only time the app connects to the internet. It sends none of your data: no fasts, health data, conversations or identifiers. As with any download, GitHub receives the technical details needed to deliver the file, such as your IP address, under GitHub's privacy statement. After the download, everything works offline. If you don't download the model, fasting tracking, live progress and chat still work. The iPhone app downloads nothing.
Gemma is provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use found at ai.google.dev/gemma/terms.
The voice coach uses the microphone only while you hold a conversation, and speech is transcribed on-device by the phone's built-in speech recognition (Apple's speech frameworks on iPhone, Android's on-device speech recognition on Android). No audio or transcripts leave your phone.
Coaching reminders and live fasting progress are local notifications created on your device. You control them through your phone's notification settings (iOS Settings → Notifications, or Android Settings → Apps → Fasting Coach → Notifications) and the app's own quiet hours and message limits.
Because nothing is stored outside your phone, there is no account or server copy to delete. Tap "Start over" in Profile, or uninstall the app, and all of its data is erased.
Fasting Coach is not directed at children. Fasting is not appropriate for children; consult a doctor for any minor's dietary decisions.
Fasting Coach offers lifestyle support, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified professional before making fasting decisions that affect your health, and stop fasting if you feel unwell.
This website (fastingcoach.co.uk) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits, so we can see how many people visit and which pages they read. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not track you across other websites. Cloudflare sees the basic details any website visit involves, such as the page, the referring site, your browser type and your approximate country, under Cloudflare's privacy policy. We only see totals, never individual visitors. None of this involves the app, which still collects nothing.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same URL with a new effective date. Questions: contact srinivas@rowdur.com.
